The primary role of the Bus Driver is to operate the Sacred Heart Schools bus in transporting students, while adhering to all applicable safety requirements, traffic laws and regulations. The Bus Driver is responsible for the passengers’ safety while operating the bus along a specified route on the Ursuline Campus, following a set time schedule. This position maintains records including bus safety and maintenance checks, bus logs, and other records as required and assists in the daily maintenance of the bus, including scheduled cleaning of the vehicle.


Full-time, 10-month position (August – May). Hours to be determined based on school calendars, normally Monday through Friday. Some evening and/or weekend hours may be necessary. The Bus Driver coordinates bus schedule with Executive Director, Sacred Heart Schools for the Arts.

Commercial driver’s license with evidence of a good driving record. High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age. Required to have CPR/First Aid training. Previous roles in childcare, education, or youth programs preferred. Must be able to lift fifty pounds. Must submit to a criminal background check. Required within the first 30 days of employment to complete Safe Environment Training through the Archdiocese of Louisville.
