Description
The STEM Director is responsible for leading and managing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education initiatives, programs, and curricula across Sacred Heart Academy and Sacred Heart Model School. This role focuses on enhancing student learning, engagement, and achievement at both schools through targeted collaboration, strategic planning, professional development, and resource management. Reporting to the Sacred Heart Schools Director of Technology, the STEM Director will collaborate with leadership, educators, and stakeholders at Sacred Heart Academy and Sacred Heart Model School to ensure the integration of innovative teaching practices and technologies that prepare our students for success in a rapidly evolving world.


The STEM Director will develop and implement a comprehensive vision for STEM education aligned with Sacred Heart Schools mission, vision, values and goals; collaborate with the Office of Catholic Identity and Ursuline Charism to intertwine Catholic teachings and service within our STEM curriculum; Co-teach lessons in the STEM building to provide hands-on education and support for both staff and students, fostering collaboration and STEM skill development.


This position will manage the scheduling and operation of the STEM building, lead and coordinate STEM events, oversee extracurricular STEM programming, provide ongoing training and support to STEM teachers, manage STEM budgets, ensure the safe and effective use of the STEM building and partner with the IT department to support and implement technology projects.


Full-time, 12-month position. Normal business hours, however, evening and/or weekend hours may periodically be required. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift at minimum 30lbs.

Requirements
Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in a STEM related field with 5+ years of experience in a school/classroom setting and/or STEM related field. Experience in teaching, curriculum design and/or leadership roles within STEM education. Strong knowledge of STEM content, pedagogy, and instructional technologies/equipment. Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
